Post 13: theme of your favorite poem or song lyric,

The poem I chose was Touched by an Angel by Maya Angelou. The theme of this poem is that love is a very sacred thing and it is also religious. To be loved you must go through many struggles in life. Love should always be worshiped even though it is hard.

Post 11: theme of your favorite movie

My favorite movie is the Fault in Our Stars. This movie has many themes so I will just choose one. The theme I chose was mortality. Hazel and Augustus experience death sooner than they think due to Hazel having cancer. Even though she has cancer they both knew she would be dying so they enjoyed the fun times together.

Post 10: two colleagues' symbols.

I chose Siobhan's post she said "Something that I wear often is my rings and my Jesus bracelet. The rings symbolizes that my mom gave me a heart ring and it means the most to me. I wear it on my right had middle finger. The second ring that I wear is on my left hand on my marriage finger.  It symbolizes the graduation ring that was giving to me from my God Dad. Also, the Jesus bracelet that I wear on wrist comes from my mother also. It's colorful and enjoy wearing it." I think that the items she wears really symbolize her.

I also chose Monicia's post she said "The object I wear that symbolizes something for me is the necklace my husband got me on Christmas this year he also got me this bracelet but I don't wear it as much as I do the necklace.I wear it every single day every where I go it means a lot to me because it came from him and he knows I love jewelry & I  love him  !!!!" I think it's sweet that the thing she chose that symbolized her was a gift from her boyfriend.

Post 9: something you often wear or carry and what it symbolizes.

Something I always wear is a smile. It symbolizes that I am always happy and that I am a very friendly person. It also shows that I am outgoing and intelligent. I am a person that people can get to know just by my smile.

Post 7 : setting in either Hemingway's or Packer's story.

The setting of Hemingway's story " Soldiers Home" is in Oklahoma at Kreb's home. This takes place in the year 1920 during the summer. This is after World War 1 has ended when the people in the war return home from fighting. " Kreb's returned tot his home town in Oklahoma the greeting of hereos was over" pg. 187 paragraph 2

Post 6 : respond to two colleagues' posts. Use quotes.

I'm going to respond to Siobhan Neals post about her favorite movie Beyond the Lights. She says that the actor she looks at the outer world differently from how she was on the inside. I have seen the movie and I think the actor had a lot of potential but she needed the right person to guide her along the way.

I am also going to respond to Israel post about the theme of the Fall of the House of Usher to her it was scary and it left her with a confused feeling. I read this story and can relate to the way that she felt when she read the story.

Post 5 : how the author's life of your Doc1 story/poem affects the story or poem. Use quotes & links.

William Faulkner's life did not affect the story A Rose for Emily. His life was different from the way Emily's life was. He had a parent in his life to raise him until he was ready to leave. He had a chance to be social growing up. That is something Emily did not have. http://www.biography.com/people/william-faulkner-9292252#younger-years
