Post 20: develops a metaphor about what you think about poetry◾1 post by Saturday about that develops a metaphor about what you think about poetry.

Using metaphors in poetry allows it to bring the imagery to life. It gives you a better understanding of what the poem is about. Metaphors make the poetry more interesting and engaging for the reader. Sometimes when people write poetry they use metaphors to express what they are trying to say better.

Post 19: metaphor in a song lyric.

I chose the song Hound Dog by Elvis Presley. The metaphor of this song is referring to a person being a cheater. We all know a person cannot really be a hound dog.
You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog
Quit snoopin’ ’round my door
You can wag your tail
But I ain’t gonna feed you no more

Post 18 : images 2 colleagues' discussed in their posts and how you differ. Use quotes.

I chose Alexus Boles post she said "Images can mean different things because what you thought something meant might not mean the same thing to someone else. The language that we use can play a huge part in the way that people understand what we are trying to say. A new reader of a poem might think the story means something totally different from what a older reader thinks. I pretty much wrote the same thing when I did my post.

I also chose Siobhan Neals post "I know when I look at an image I can see the words throughout the image and sometimes predict what happens.Like Maya Angelou poem "Phenomenal Woman" I can see a woman that is strong and is well smart about what she do. In this poem I see the image of a woman who is confident and does not care what anyone thinks.

Post 17: why images can mean so many different things. Use a quote from a poem and from a song you like.

Images can mean different things because what you thought something meant might not mean the same thing to someone else. The language that we use can play a huge part in the way that people understand what we are trying to say. A new reader of a poem might think the story means something totally different from what a older reader thinks. In the poem a lesson from history by Joseph Morris one reader might agree that the first line is true but another reader might disagree that once you have done something their life becomes easier.
Everything's easy after it's done;
Every battle's a "cinch" that's won;
Every problem is clear that's solved--

 In the song Waterfalls by TLC a reader might think this song is actually about chasing waterfalls just from the title while it is really about a guy who has HIV and AIDS.
“One day he goes and takes a glimpse in the mirror
But he doesn’t recognise his own face
His health is fading and he doesn’t know why
Three letters took him to his final resting place.”

Post 16: responding to two colleagues' posts. Use quotes.

I chose to use Siobhan Neal's post about the theme of her life so far. She said the theme of her life so far is "motivation to drive herself for college. Having a positive outlook in your life can lead you to have a great time." I agree with what Siobhan said motivation allows you to do better the more motivated you are the better you do no matter what it is.

I also used Tiffany Willis's post about the theme of her life. She said the theme of her life is "Letting go of an old flame so a new one can come in and love me." Holding on to the past does nothing but tear you down even more." What she said is true if you keep holding on to the past you will get no where in life.

Post 15: the use of mythological elements in one of this week's poems. Use quotes

The poem I chose was The death of the Ball Turrett Gunner by Randall Jarrell. This poem has many mythological elements such as the mother and her child being in a ball Turret which places them in extreme danger. The first line in the poem states that he emerged from his mothers sleep (pg. 805). As a child he was comforted , warm and had security. (Pg. 805)

Post 14: 2 of your colleagues' favorite poems or lyrics.

I chose Siobhan Neal's post about her favorite song  lyric she said, "My favorite song lyric is Adele Song "Hello".  The songwriter emphasis that she has a phone in the middle of nowhere and she needs to get reception and and the towers that are there and she wants to talk to her loved one. They been going through hell and back. She is out of town and she wants him to return her call. I also like this song lyric from Adele because you can actually feel the same pain that she does.

I also chose to use Breanna Williams post about her favorite movie. She said, "My favorite movie is  The Notebook its about two young lovers who want to be together so bad but they are just way to different they come from different back grounds the girl grows up rich and wealthy but her lover was poor. Her parents did not  approve of their relationship so they move away . I have never seen this movie before but it sounds interesting.
